As we say goodbye to graduating
seniors who are either college bound
or who have hung up their cleats for
the last time, we welcome the new
guard.

blossoming crop of new Juniors and seniors who are ready to step into the
shoes of former upperclassmen. One tool which will help them to fulfill their new
roles are the Seven On Seven leagues which are available to them.
No pads, no helmets- just a mouth piece, plenty of water and a willingness to
excel are all that's required. - Gloves are optional. Teams can run their young
stallions through the paces and fine tune them as they go along. In fact some
teams deliberately choose to keep their proven thoroughbreds in the "Barn" for
the day so as to allow other players more playing time. It's a great time to knock
the kinks out of pass routes as well as defensive assignments .
Now, teams may choose to participate in seven on sevens for a variety of
reasons. If there are a sizeable enough core of players who don't have enough
game-time experience this is a great opportunity for them to get a little taste of
it. From what we've seen going against a "True" opponent raises the level of
play in athletes.
Whatever the reason(s) teams choose to participate in the 7 on 7's the end
result will be a more cohesive team and that can only result in a higher level of
in-season play!
So, fans in the stands can look to reap the benefits of the summer shootouts
.Without a doubt we can all expect to see teams reach mid- season form a lot
sooner in the season.
