Our actual coverage of the PSAL began this weekend and we're happy to find teams playing some great ball.
We covered James Madison’s game with Springfield Gardens and then shuffled over to the Lehman/FDR
game which took place at New Utrecht’s field. We've got to say we were impressed with the “Refuse to Lose”
attitude that oozed from the players in those games. Coaches on all the side controllably hyped while
players were amped and more than capable of backing it up with their pads. In fact, in the game between
Lehman and FDR, when one team scored it was quickly matched by the other. Teams played ball like they
believed they could win and with good reason since victory often goes to the team who keeps fighting. No
head hangers here!
Special kudos to the coaches who took the time to applaud the herculean efforts of individual players, that’s
the kind of thing which brings out the most in a team!

We began coverage inside the New York’s PSAL with the thought of continuing where things left off, little did
we know just how literally true that would prove to be.
Little did we expect things to quickly rise to the exhausting grind-it-out ball play that was seen in 2010's
quadruple overtime game between Columbus and Jamaica . Not only did many teams enter last season in
near mid season form, they reflected it by clawing for every inch from the first whistle to the last.
