Saturday’s freak October snow storm knocked out a lot of things. Trees, Lights, and even
football games. There’s no doubt that snow and shrubbery don’t go together!

Like many folks, we didn't expect  things to be so bad when we decided to focus our
coverage on the garden State. And we certainly didn't expect to be locked out of our
servers until today due to the resulting power outages. How wrong we were!
Some real
pad pounding was truly about to take place when the wildcat snowstorm put kibosh on
many games in New Jersey.

But before the white stuff made a nuisance of itself we were able to cover the freshmen
game between  Hackensack and Ferris. Once again we stepped onto the field amazed at
the size of the kids on both teams, maybe it’s something in the water as the saying goes.

A good number of the players presented at near varsity level size and the skill level,
especially for Hackensack surpassed that of many freshmen  teams which we usually
cover.
TONS  OF  POTENTIAL

The Hackensack varsity often churn out teams which are often in the thick of things where all the action takes place in North Jersey
football..as seen by their 2008
championship bid at Giants stadium. Also the Thanksgiving day games against Teaneck are
Legendary

Judging by the freshmen squad the Comets will have a bumper crop of quality players for years to come. Ferris on the other hand is
due it’s kudos too. Not only did they have their fair share of gargantuan gridders but there’s a lot to be said about the program and the
coaching. The struggles of football certainly don’t begin and end on the field. The challenges of coaching budding athletes who are
strapping on the pads for the first time is something which the Ferris coaches are quite familiar with. To their credit the coaches
coordinated a solid performance all things considered. Additionally, Ferris had some players who exhibited outstanding skills on both
sides of the ball. Some would be great players on anybody’s team.  On either side of the field we certainly look forward what the future
holds for both of these teams who are chock full of potential!
