Rolling With Brooklyn's Big Dogs !
Saturday's weather was perfect for fall-ball and most game stands were full
of fans cheering for their favorite team. While  you can sure that other
boroughs are well represented and have a few "Big Dog" teams of their
own, Brooklyn usually produces a few top dogs of it's own.  As for the day's
excitement, even the Doberman Pincher in the graphic to the right seemed
to be playing close attention to what was going on.Since he was dressed in
Jefferson's colors there was no doubt about who he was cheering for!
Two Brooklyn teams who went at it early Saturday morning were South
Shore & Tilden.
The  game was one where teams battled to best each
other. There were more than a few moments of intense action. Not too far
away music could be heard as you approached the
Jefferson / Grady
game.
Jefferson, being one of several teams who were celebrating their
homecoming, pulled out all the stops.
Festivities included the traditional homecoming king and queen, DJ, and stands packed full of supporters. In another
Brooklyn borough match up
New Utrecht hosted Fort Hamilton before a crowd standing three deep along the
fences. While the Tigers bested the Utes there were plenty of nail biting moments when Utrecht played Ft Hamilton
tough. In fact when we covered them earlier in the year we could see they were a hard hitting team with a solid grasp
on the fundamentals. Talented athletes not to be taken lightly. But the gridiron festivities didn't end there.
As if saving the best for last, Boys High hosted the match up with Grand Street Campus later than the traditional noon time start.
Here too, you could hear the music spilling out of the stadium as you approached because they were also celebrating their
homecoming
DJ Chocolatte worked the crowd with tunes to accompany all of the cheering that went on. When the DJ wasn't
entertaining keeping the crowd on it's feet
The Brooklyn Steppers Marching Band gave onlookers plenty to look at, Grand Street is
also a hard nosed club and battled the Boyz tough but neither team had scored as they entered the locker room for the half time
break.  The second half saw more great play but The Kangaroos took the win home in the end!
