If the Curtis /Port Richmond game was a monster's ball then the night game between Abraham
Lincoln and Midwood was definitely the after party. Lincoln hosted the game at it's new field in
Brooklyn complete with DJ Riddim Vybz and stands full of supporters for both teams.
A few weeks ago we ran into some of the Rail Splitters who promised a good game whenever we
covered them. One of the top teams in the PSAL this season, the Abes have been making their
presence known in the league like a rowdy bull in a china shop.
At the moment Lincoln, whose school is located just a
stones throw from the famous Coney Island, has won
every game this season. While Lincoln put another
notch on their belt in this contest with Midwood, the score
doesn't reflect the whole story, it rarely does.
Playing em Tough
Some might think that Lincoln simply steam rolled over
the hornets but that's not true. From where we sat we
could see that the Hornets stalled Lincoln's offense a few
times. In fact at one point the Midwood defense kept the
Rail Splitters from scoring in the second half. To be sure
there were some moments when Midwood showed real
promise and played some good hard nosed football. No
doubt we'll be looking to see how things develop for
Lincoln through the rest of the season !
